Photographs carry more than pixels. This reads a file's headers in the page and shows what the camera or software recorded alongside the picture: dimensions and file type, and where present, EXIF fields such as camera model, lens, exposure settings, the timestamp and GPS coordinates. The privacy case is the one that matters most — a photo taken at home and posted publicly can carry the exact location it was taken, and checking before publishing is the point at which that is still fixable. Photographers also use it to recall the settings behind a shot they liked. Two things to expect: many social platforms strip EXIF during upload, so an image saved from one often shows very little; and this tool reads metadata without removing it. To strip fields, re-encode the image — passing it through the converter generally drops most EXIF data.
