Age Calculator

Age is counted here the way the calendar counts it: whole years first, then whole months, then the remaining days between a date of birth and the target date. That is deliberately not the same as dividing a total day count by 365, and the calendar-unit result is the one used for legal age, eligibility thresholds and anything official. You can calculate age as of today or as of another date, which is what makes it useful for checking whether someone will have turned a particular age by a deadline — a school cut-off, an insurance band, a competition entry date. Because months differ in length and leap years add a day, 'one month' is not a fixed number of days, and that is the source of the small discrepancies people notice between this and a simple day-count divided by an average year length.
